Lanier's Thomas Billups Wins 600th Game

JACKSON, MS (WLBT) - From Jerry Nichols to Monta Ellis, Lanier High School has seen its share of basketball stars.

Over the years, those players have made coach Thomas Billups one of the most successful high school coaches in the Mississippi history.

Tuesday night Lanier beat Ridgeland for Billups' 600th career win.

"It meant a lot to me. Like I said before, the 600th means a lot to us, but I prefer having another state championship this year and that's what we are going after," said Billups.
