WLBT.com - Jackson, MSJewell Hillery

Jewell Hillery, born and raised in Chicago, IL,  joined the WLBT news team as the morning live reporter in November 2010. 

It's been Jewell's lifelong dream to work as a reporter, and she's thrilled to bring the news to Jackson! 

Prior to reporting for WLBT, Jewell worked as a general assignment reporter for WTVO in Rockford, IL.
 
Jewell graduated with a degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and went on to earn her master's in Public Affairs reporting from the University of Illinois in Springfield. 

In college, Jewell began her television career as a production assistant and camera operator for WILL-TV in Urbana, IL. Throughout her academic career, Jewell gained invaluable experience interning at WCIA in Champaign, IL, WCFN in Springfield, IL,  and WLS/ABC-7 in Chicago. 

While Jewell enjoys traveling to places like Singapore and Cape Town, South Africa, she also loves eating good food, exercising (working out is a must!), and spending time with family and friends! 

Jewell is very excited to be in Jackson and looks forward to the mild winters!
